Local, State, National

When you join BASO, you’re not just joining one organization—you’re gaining the strength of three. Your membership includes the Builders Association of Southern Oregon (BASO), the Oregon Home Builders Association (OHBA) in Salem, and our national partner, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

This powerful trifecta works together to advance builders, contractors, subcontractors, and the many businesses that support our industry. From local projects to national policy, these organizations advocate for safe, sustainable growth and represent your interests at every level.

As a united voice, we champion policies that promote building, protect safety standards, and foster economic growth—ensuring that the building industry in Southern Oregon and beyond continues to thrive.

Housing Creators and Killers Logo

The Oregon Home Builders Association (OHBA) is closely monitoring key legislation that could shape the future of Oregon's housing policy. Our 2024 Housing Killers and Creators list highlights bills moving through the Oregon Legislature that, if passed, will either exacerbate or alleviate the state's housing challenges.

The Housing Killers list includes bills that would increase costs, delays, and regulatory hurdles, making it even harder to build homes in Oregon.
The Housing Creators list features bills that reduce barriers to home construction and help address Oregon's growing housing needs.

OHBA’s Housing Killers and Creators list serves to inform our members about critical legislative actions and advocate for policies that will either worsen or improve Oregon’s housing crisis.
