What We Do

The Builders Association of Southern Oregon (BASO), formerly known as the Home Builders Association of Jackson County, is where education, advocacy, and community come together to strengthen our region’s building industry. We equip professionals with the knowledge and tools they need, champion the interests of our members at every level of government, and influence public policy to ensure Southern Oregon continues to grow in ways that are safe, sustainable, and affordable.

Why We Matter

BASO isn’t just about construction—we’re about building stronger communities. We connect people, create opportunities, and help shape policy that keeps housing and development safe, affordable, and environmentally responsible.

Educate

We offer top-quality classes and certifications, including CCB Pre-License Education, CCB Renewal Education, and RRP Lead-Based Paint training—helping professionals stay current, skilled, and ready for the future.

Advocate

We’re at the table where decisions are made—participating in more than 100 meetings each year with national, state, regional, and local policymakers to protect and promote the building industry. It is our mission to connect people while building opportunities for our community.

Our signature events bring the community together and inspire pride in Southern Oregon’s future: the region’s largest Home & Garden Show, our beloved Builders Classic Benefit Golf Tournament, Poker Tournament, and Member Misers. Each one is a celebration of teamwork, innovation, and the shared goal of building a better tomorrow.

Together, we’re not just constructing buildings—we’re creating opportunities, fostering connections, and leaving a legacy that will benefit generations to come.

Collaborate

We bring people together to grow and strengthen our industry—hosting round tables to hear our members’ needs, community celebrations like the Southern Oregon Home & Garden Show and our annual Christmas Party, and networking at Member Mixers. We also invest in the next generation through high school trade skill builds, creating pathways for future builders. These connections spark ideas, build partnerships, and ensure a thriving future for Southern Oregon.
